Field Service Representatives (FSR) (2)

  • Contractual (12 months), full-time positions
  • Location of the possible assignment: Gagetown (New Brunswick)

Rheinmetall Canada is currently seeking two senior technicians to provide technical support for the Leopard 2 tanks in CFB Gagetown: one FSR for the chassis and its components (FSR-Vehicle) and one FSR for the turret, its armament, and the associated fire control systems (FSR-Turret).

Responsibilities

  • Provide operator and technician training, including familiarization and refresher clinics.
  • Provide dedicated technical support to the local maintenance authority (including planned maintenance, corrective maintenance, and diagnostics).
  • Implement retrofits and upgrades (including supply support required to perform the upgrades, such as parts tracking, identification, and provisioning).
  • Provide on-site failure analysis and technical investigations.
  • Manage on-site warranty support for Rheinmetall Canada.
  • Prepare reports and provide feedback to Rheinmetall Canada on significant issues concerning Leopard 2 integrated logistic support products or services, such as technical publications, training material, spare parts provisioning, etc.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as supervisory, management, or lead technician in the Canadian Forces land maintenance system environment as vehicle technician (FSR-Vehicle) or as electro-optics or weapon technician (FSR-Turret).
  • At least 10 years of experience in the following areas related to military armoured vehicles:
    • Equipment troubleshooting, servicing, and calibrating, and supervising repairs.
    • Providing maintenance support and production control.
    • Conducting repairs and modifications, resolving technical problems.
    • Delivering technical or operator training.
    • Providing technical advice to Canadian Forces users.
    • Maintaining and using existing databases.

Assets

  • Experience as life cycle material manager or as technical instructor at DND.
  • Experience with maintenance of the Leopard 2 and/or Leopard 1 C2 in Canada or in operations.

Additional requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain a minimal security clearance of Enhanced Reliability.
  • Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Be a self-starter and have the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Be able to travel as required.
  • Possess inter-personal skills: able to work in a military environment and to communicate effectively in a highly disciplined hierarchical organization.
